More about the image:

Behavioral pictures are often the most thought provoking and can either tell a story or leave the viewer wanting to know more. On a sunset drive in the Letaba region of Kruger I was faced with a chance to photograph a giraffe at eye-level, but the giraffe portrait alone lacked impact - an Oxpecker was the perfect element to add a little more interest to the scene. Oxpeckers are often seen feeding on ticks and other small, unwelcome creatures that plague the large herbivores of the veld. They relieve their hosts of parasites and provide an early warning system, in return, the host provides food for the Oxpeckers.
